About me
I’m an artist based on Wadawurrung Country on the Bellarine Peninsula. My practice is deeply inspired by nature, as well as my own experiences and memories, which I explore through intuitive painting.
I feel really drawn to trees—their presence, their quiet strength, and especially the intricate detail of their bark. There’s something in those textures that feels full of memory, almost like they hold a kind of soul. Through slow, detailed mark making, I try to connect with that feeling and translate it into my work.
In a similar way, my work is currently exploring womanhood and the inner emotional world of being a woman. I reflect on what it felt like growing up as a girl, moving through my twenties and now thirties, and the things we’re told—both directly and indirectly—about who we should be. A lot of my work comes from my own memories and feelings, using marks, forms and colours to evoke emotion, both for myself and for the viewer. It’s an ongoing process of self-discovery, and something I’m still exploring and understanding through my practice.
